Yes, we have a ghost… and at least one or two more. The Séance Lounge in The Soiree (2nd
floor) was named as such because our prominent ghost, Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan, resides there most of the time. He has been seen - described as a long cylindrical luminescence with sparkles on the outside as he "walks" thru the Séance although there is no defined legs or arms—around 50 times in the last 5 years or so.
In 1788, there was a disastrous fire in the French Quarter… it burned everything to the ground. Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan bought the property in 1789, and subsequently built his "dream home" for himself and his
family. One night in 1814, Mr. Jourdan wagered his beloved house in a poker game--- he lost, and before he had to vacate his beloved home, he committed suicide on the 2nd
floor… best determined to be in the Séance Lounge area. Thus Pierre Antoine walks his beloved home forever. According to most of the psychics, 98% of all ghosts are very friendly… they will not hurt you and in fact are very pleasant. But, 2% are put into the
Mischievous Class… although they will not, cannot hurt you, they do invade our physical world and play tricks on us such as moving things, etc. We have a mischievous ghost in our Courtyard Bar
on the first floor… possibly, Pierre Antoine "gets mad" and goes downstairs and throws glasses, or we have a another ghost as three times since March, 2001, we have had a glass "fly"
from behind the bar 12 feet across to the brick wall and shatter…. If it was a vibration from passing traffic or something else, the glass would tumble to the floor…. Not traverse twelve feet into the brick wall…
Additionally, most psychics say our Carriageway has many, many troubled spirits in residence apparently from the time this area was used as an area to house the servants at night…
All of Muriel's Jackson Square spirits are friendly, playful, and fun to have in residence. |
